Drew Goddard's much-anticipated horror film, The Cabin in the Woods has been sitting idle for three years, but thanks to the attention star Chris Hemsworth has been getting lately, the film was recently picked up by Lionsgate. It was co-written by Goddard, who also wrote Cloverfield and a lot of Lost episodes, so that should tell you this is going to be great. The other writer is Joss Whedon - if I have to explain who he is, you are probably on the wrong site.
Cabin is a twisted take on the familiar "cabin in the woods" style of horror movies. The film also stars Richard Jenkins, Amy Acker, and Bradley Whitford. It will no doubt be awesome. The speculated (not official) release date is October 28th, 2011. Just in time for Halloween.
