It seems like ABC is trying to fill the void that Lost left behind with a new supernatural drama/horror, The River. This one was created by Oren Peli, director of Paranormal Activity. The show centers on a group of friends and family members embarking on a search to find a famed adventurer/TV personality (Bruce Greenwood) who, along with his crew, has gone missing in the Amazon. The show also stars Leslie Hope (24), Thomas Kretschmann (Wanted), and Joe Anderson (The Ruins). The first episode is helmed by Orphan director Jaume Collet-Serra.
