Rutger Hauer to play the Devil in Neil Jones’ "The Reverend"

Hot off his popularity from Hobo with a Shotgun, Rutger Hauer has joined the cast of The Reverend, directed by Neil Jones (The Lost). According to ShockTillYouDrop, the synopsis is as follows:

“Fresh from seminary school a new Reverend embarks on his first parish…On a wet, cold night a mysterious girl visits The Reverend at the chapel…soon it becomes apparent that her visit is not for sanctuary but to deliver a message in the form of a deep, bloody bite...Awoken with an unknown, uncontrollable thirst a confused Reverend can find no evidence of the girl from the night before, with nothing but the thirst and memory of the bite, The Reverend embarks on his mandate, to clean up the village and the neighboring estate, by preaching or feasting.”

Sounds quite a bit like Park Chan-wook’s Thirst, no? Not that I mind. Elevating the project from cool to awesome is the fact that Hauer will be playing the Devil! He will be playing opposite Italian horror legend Giovanni Lombardo Radice as “The Almighty.” That is just a match made in Heaven…or Hell. Take your pick. Here's another sexy picture to get you excited....
