R.I.P. Richard Lynch

The genre film industry lost a great character actor this week. Richard Lynch has passed away at the age of 76. Even if you don't know the name, any child of the 70s or 80s knows Lynch's unmistakable blonde hair and scarred face (the result of an infamous LSD accident).

A U.S. Marine turned actor, Lynch made a name for himself mostly playing villains, including Invasion U.S.A. (see clip below), The Sword and the Sorcerer, and Bad Dreams. He also appeared in Scarecrow opposite Al Pacino, and countless TV shows such as Battlestar Galactica and The A-Team. Most recently, Lynch has worked with Rob Zombie, appearing in Halloween and the forthcoming Lords of Salem.

Right up until the end, Lynch was still a staple at horror conventions, eager to meet and greet fans. With 160 credits to his name Lynch has left behind one hell of a B-movie legacy that won't soon be forgotten. Goodbye, Mr. Lynch.
